The Academy's inability to recognize the greatness of Serkis's performance is unforgivable. All of the apes were masterfully acted, but Caesar in *War * was particularly astonishing. No human actor has stirred my soul like that.

I only saw the second one and all I really remember is that POV shot during the final ape fight where you are the furious pouncing hero, and that shit rocks cocks, had me leaning forward with a huge grin on my face.
Definitely one of the worst snubs for an actor.

It is quite comical how long the Academy has cockblocked him, despite his legendary status to peers and fans alike. His first and only Oscar was for The Departed which was arguably his weakest crime film.
Honestly those kind of antics are why I stopped caring about the Oscars entirely. I'm happy when someone whose work I enjoyed gets one, because hey that's some nice resume padding for whoever cares about those little golden men, but I no longer believe it actually confers anything about the quality involved.
If you love a good prison-break movie, and you like great apes, you're going to have a real good time.
No stunt category is pure elitism. They're scared of nominating Fast and Furious or whatever which I kinda understand (despite hinting at introducing a most popular film oscar category a year or two ago :kombucha-disgust: ), but those physical performers are fucking amazing
