Sadly I don't think cars will ever go away. Even if we find a way to teleport people they will probably build personal teleporting spaces, because sharing something with poor people is not possible.

I find the Japanese government my favorite in terms of contrast. It can be highly forward looking and implement large plans both domestically and internationally. It’s happy to make deals with anyone. At the same time massively corrupt with hilarious scandals and so backwards you get open sexism and a complete failure to understand anything software.
