It can be reasonably fun. Don't go in with expectations, ESPECIALLY do not go in after having seen previews of what Will Wright wanted it to be, just go in if you want to play single player WoW/Civ/some space game with weird little creatures you made.

Now, don't get me wrong, the WoW mechanics and Civ mechanics are way worse than WoW or Civ.
