Someone misgenders this woman and then some rose emoji transwoman goes "actually, genocide denial is way worse than misgendering someone." Like, is genocide denial worse than using racial slur? Would it be ok to start throwing gamer words at hoteps that spread antisemitic conspiracy theories on twitter?
Fuck, I'm not big on China, but this cynical weaponization of "genocide denial" label is making me uneasy.
What's the reason people are so offended by genocide denial? I guess, I've never met someone who denied Holocaust who wasn't also into other antisemitic conspiracies. I can see how this is dangerous.
But what about people who don't think that the famine in Ukraine was an act of genocide? Sure, you may think that this betrays a fundamentally flawed understanding of history and that ultimately leads to flawed ideology. But do people think that the guy with a Stalin avatar is as prejudiced to Ukrainians as Holocaust denier towards Jews?
They literally think people are nazis for saying the guy who counts abortions and birth control as victims of genocide is probably biased and lying like a dog.
