Did you not consider something like Codeberg to host this? Many open source devs do not trust MS or their stewardship of Github, and considering the aim of this project is against American control of information, surely this really needs serious consideration.

I think it's worth bringing a solution in house. A recommended migration route. If you want people to feel confident to pick any instance, you have to give them the confidence to move easily and not fear picking a small instance that might die when their owner gets bored. A simple setting option to migrate from, then you select the account and either (through communities accessible, or through automated request, pull that data and subscribe to communities. Maybe blocks etc also.

I tried a long time ago on Mandrake or Mandriva, cannot remember. Didn't stick and eventually after trying to use Windows 10 on a HDD, Linux Mint welcomed me with open arms. Now duel booting on OpenSuse but haven't started Windows in 6 months. I just don't need it anymore. Thanks to the Wine and proton teams!

It was actually created because of design issues in x11 that prevented certain solutions to modern problems. I think there was also certain security concerns. I did read a blog about this previously.

I'm not sure I agree with the premise of this. Its approaching it as if it is psychological. We have already seen studies that have shown conditions like this such as ME/CFS and long covid have a physiological component to them.

Any positive result of this is likely because of either more exposure to the outside world which could fit in with pacing, or patients feeling happier and the pain, fatigue feeling less of a burden.

It would be nice if they spent more studies testing approaches based on actual conditions rather than reapplying silver bullets to everything. CBT is a useful psychological treatment, but physiological conditions need a physiological approach.

Edit: imagine applying CBT with cancer and patients feeling happier and less pain. It doesn't mean it treated the condition, it treated symptoms or emotions. These approaches feel like a joke.

It's a FOSS voxel engine, so they can play multiplayer with their friends for free. MineClone2 is a Minecraft clone on Minetest, so even if their friends don't have Minecraft, they can still play with friends.

For paid games, consider indie games, as they're less likely to be micro-transaction bullshit. Raft, Stardew Valley, Two Point Hospital are good options. Not so much multiplayer, but Stardew supports it. Multiplayer wise, maybe Among Us if the parents are comfortable with that.
