  • Don't take advice from internet randos. Seek professional advice and help from people in related fields. From your phrasing there's alot more going on than gender related stuff and the way mental stuff entertwines, you don't want to just assume "A," when really "kinda A but really B and working on B makes A not a thing anymore" or "turns out it was C all along!"

As for gender specific stuff, try experimenting internally if you feel confused. You don't have to dress up and present as X or Y starting out, you can just apply it in thought and see how it feels. Refer to yourself mentally in different ways, see what feels good or "right" to you.

Disclaimer: cis as fuck but have a laundry list of other shit 😂 so I can't really speak to the second part but definitely know what I'm talking about with the first. Good luck!

  • Second, it's not about winning; it's about being the biggest pain in the ass possible for people making money off our privacy.

This. I don't think I'm "fighting a war," but I pay for my own email server, self host a number of services, and am waiting on my pixel 8 now to run Graphene OS on. I can't be "off the grid" but I don't have to fuel everyone's data hoarding machines.

  • They're gonna protect their whales. It's like Facebook, I report outright calls to violence, doing, and hate speech all the time to be told it "doesn't violate TOS" but I make one comment that "hiding behind Christianity to justify your hate is bullshit" got me a hate speech ding on my account in under 5 minutes.

  • It's an unpopular take but I do think ownership as a concept will lose weight as we move ever closer to post-scarcity. The problem is that people are unwilling to look to the next step of post-consumerism.

Of course Apple needs you by the balls - you can run a 10 year old iPhone and be fine. Of course automakers need you by the balls they've shot prices so high nobody can buy new every 3 years or whatever that number used to be. Of course printer companies need you by the balls, the ink is their only revenue stream.

Don't get me wrong, 1000% a loud advocate of de-googling, FOSS, modding, etc etc and these Right To Repair and related issues DO need to be addressed - but they're bandaids ignoring the bigger issue, capitalism by it's very nature requires infinite growth and just like Moore's law is pushing up against its physical limitations with transistors so too is capitalism. To quote Victor Timely: You can't scale for infinite, it's like dividing by zero.
