My brother is joining the marines, and idk how to interact with him about it. He's in bootcamp and my parents want me to write and support him but like... I hate what he's doing, idk what to say.
Last time i went to the beach, i went for a walk around 3 AM while there was a full moon - it was like I'd stepped into an alternate dimension where i was the only person alive, even the beach cops had stopped patrolling. I wish i could slip into full-moon night-beach world on-demand.
I did have teacher in college blame the 07-08 recession on Obama. He argued that Obama was so liberal that all the bankers shat themselves and tanked the economy out of fear for his "radical" policies.

Ive stayed up to date with my vaxxes, but one of the guys i hung out with this past weekend got me infected - and i just found out he hasnt gotten any of the boosters. Pretty annoyed because this was my first time getting it, and he's gotten it twice in the past year. I wouldn't have hung out with him if i knew he wasn't fully vaxxed in the first place, so im a bit irritated.
If you want to learn rhythm you could always pick up some drumsticks and a practice pad and practice some basic rudiments and techniques. Bass Guitar is also pretty nice for this, I found it pretty easy to at least pick up and play, but it challenges my rhythm abilities a lot. I think they best strategy for any instrument is to learn to count rhythm, and play with a metronome as much as possible
Similar boat. Went on a weekend trip with some friends, as soon as we get back last night one of them tests positive for covid. I haven't gotten it at all yet, so im hoping this isn't the time it finally gets me.
Getting really sick of the transit situation in my area. My partner will never be able to drive, so we either need to live close to her job, or i need to drive her (I WFH, so its doable, but I cant reliably guarantee my availability). But even when applying for jobs, they'll ask shit like "do you have a license" and turn you away for saying no on the grounds that you need reliable work transport. When i talk to locals about public transit, the sentiment is that it's either not doable because we "Aren't New York" or that "nobody wants it.". I suppose we could move to a city with transit, but they're all significantly more expensive to live in.
Idk I'm just venting. My partner is job searching and only finding hybrid jobs in other cities. Anyone else living in Amerikkka manage to get by w/o a car or license? How do you get around when there's limited transport/sidewalks besides risking life and limb biking on the road?
I messed up doing my car brakes and now have to pay $480 to get them done correctly, am carless in the meantime. My student loan payments are months behind and I didn't notice that my payment bounced, so i owe $700 this month on that. Literally what the fuck is the point of this, I can't afford any of this. How the hell am i supposed to get out of debt i want to fucking die
They might not pay well, but you could see if there are any student jobs offered by the school? I spent the majority of my time in college working for their IT services doing tech support. The pay was laughable, and capped at 29 hrs weekly, but the expectations were a lot more reasonable and i got most of my homework done in the downtime.
