I'm glad you liked it! I gotta say I think I learned a lot from it too. It definitely helped me understand even in a small part what a revolution would look like and how to talk to people about it. The explanation about the "internalized oppressor" really helped me understand some behavior I'd seen in others that I didnt grasp previously.

I think it also made me less lib haha, all the more reason to read more books I guess.

I can definitely see where the criticism comes from. I will say it's shorter in length and the author does only have a handful of points to get.

I think the book was written to be a bit repetitive on purpose to drive home it's points. The author will state something, give some examples, context, or explain a bit more, and then says the point again as a way to wrap it all up.

I didn't mind it, but I can see how when reading it some would want him to move on to the next point. It can feel like a time waste if you already understand the concept and he's just writing on and on about the topic and bringing up the same point. Again, it is short book though, so it's at least not a huge pain.

I think the situation serves to show how alienation is an issue. The cops were called because you don't know enough of your neighbors to enforce the neighborhoods peace on your own, and because you don't know who those kids are. It's a lot easier to tell off a teenager if it's Jeremy, and he's so and so's kid. I know a lot of people are going to be hard on you because of your decision to call the police. However, we're all learning and trying to live in a world that doesn't work the way we want. We would all be better served by getting more involved in our communities depending on what's materially possible.

I've done this before on a Pokémon silver cartridge. Instead of soldering the tab back on, I carefully taped it in place. It works just fine. The fit of the board into the plastic case might be different on the advanced cartridges so I'd say use your best judgment but it will work if it's just held there instead of soldered.

To remove the soldered on tab, I just used a tiny screwdriver (like for eye glasses) and removed it.

The nice part with this is you can just change the battery if it goes dead again.

I was a little confused by this but it's not a billion people collectively, it's as much as one person in this group of a billion people.
