I have (or had) a friend who used to be in my sorta position, and then they got the COVID unemployment shit—idk exactly how much but it was five figures—and it changed their life. When I was out shopping and whatnot I’d say to myself Heh, I’m just like them now.

I didn’t spend all of it nor most of it or even half of it on drugs, no. I can’t really provide too much detail here.

I mean, I fucked up pretty bad. I could’ve gotten a car or something. I thought this would be what turns things around for me. A once in a lifetime occurrence, all fucked up. I was set up for failure before I was even born, but so were a lot of people who know how to responsibly handle $4,000.

Drugs don’t kill people—it’s the stigma that kills. You can get kicked out of college, lose your job, lose your housing just because you happen to be on drugs—you don’t have to do anything wrong. And then you become an unperson—you can do absolutely nothing wrong and still people spit in your face and call you a piece of shit, and somehow that’s OK.

Cooking meth requires some knowledge of chemistry, and thousands of dollars worth of lab equipment and “ingredients.” Unless you can get your hands on some pseudoephedrine. Then you can make that shit in a fucking Gatorade bottle.
