Don't most mobile operating systems support this natively already? I can't think of a single phone I've had in the last 10 years that didn't have this built in. Most desktop operating systems, too. I haven't needed to use f.lux in ages.
There are tons of people like this, politically checked out. Probably making voting decisions based on one sound bite from one side or the other that they heard like 6 years ago, or if a certain candidate's photo in the voter guide is flattering or not. I know someone who said recently, and I quote, "I should probably vote this time, one of my friends said it's a woman running now". Like, totally clueless. Being terminally political brained isn't the norm, and I don't think we should expect it from the average person, either.
And to be clear that isn't their fault. Blaming the common low information voter for the conditions that make them politically apathetic is fucking stupid, when that is the entire point of how things are under capitalism. Most people are just trying to survive and doing the best they can. I think it's important to nudge people in the right direction when appropriate and enable people to find answers more easily if they are searching. But most of all it's important to just support our communities and show people kindness and understanding. Remember, revolutionary conditions aren't predicated on every single person in the population understanding economic and political theory.
On the one hand, I agree it's too little too late. On the other hand, I have to wonder why the shift from the status quo at all?
I don't really understand the resistance to Windows 11, especially if you're already on Windows 10 which is just straight garbage. This is coming from someone who used the various iterations of Windows 10 LTSC until Windows 11 was available. I switched immediately and never looked back. It's literally an upgrade in every way, with some minor tweaking.
Absolutely, I've pretty much come to the same conclusion about him. He looooved the media attention, happy to be on the cable news channels acting as one of their talking heads. I'd put money on him being hired as an MSNBC political contributor within the next 5 years.
Yeah, especially when there are people seemingly just combing through the feeds of known shitbags all day looking for bad takes specifically to post in the tanks. Like, we get it, they suck. Honestly, when admins create whatever comm replaces the dunk tank, I feel like there should be a limit of like one post per user per day or something lol.
I'm not super in the loop either, but I've heard some interviews on podcasts like Bad Faith, specifically the interview with Stein's running mate Butch (I believe it was "Episode 411 - You're Not a Democrat w/ Dr. Butch Ware").
Basically, this time around Dr. Jill Stein didn't really want to run so the party was looking for another candidate to endorse. Cornel West was running under the People's Party who had very limited ballot access, so he was happy to use the GP's platform and ballot access to expand his reach, media profile, and support base, but when it came time to follow party protocols and work within their framework he apparently didn't like being told what to do, so he did a hard break with them and started yet another party. At which point the Greens basically had to scramble and get Stein to run again so they could retain their ballot access for next time around. Just sounds like a total shit show.
While I don't disagree with you, I have MAGA family members who consider themselves to be pro-Palestine (recognizing the occupation as a genocide, opposed to military aid to Israel, etc.). They might not really understand the entire history of the conflict, but they know at least that Israel is the aggressor and that the Palestinians are innocent. However when it comes to Trump's stance on it all they say is "don't listen to what he says, look at what he does", which at this point kind of rings hollow. Like, perhaps they believe he has to say some of these things to garner support, but when it comes time to implement policy he will shift gears. I don't agree with the sentiment at all, but it may give you some insight into their thought process. I honestly think a lot of well meaning (but ignorant) people have simply been duped.
It would be nice if the Greens just endorsed the PSL ticket next time around. It sounds like Stein didn't even want to have to run, and it's pretty clear there is no one else in the GP that can fill the ticket, given the shit show around Cornel West. It's not like PSL's platform is at odds with the Greens in any way.
I'm a UlyssesT enjoyer, but I'll be honest the 24/7 posting on the dunk comms was just too much. I unsubscribed from them like 2 months ago just so I could stop seeing Elon bullshit all over my feed lmao.
So it's the exact same electoral map as 2016, except Kamala lost Nevada, too. Lmao what a dork ass fucking loser.
The Pokemon manga designs are wild. Red's Clefairy is my favorite
I listened to Bernie Sanders and voted for Joseph Robinette Brandon
Wow, I'm so owned! Great chat, redditoid.
Incredible discourse, "Anyone who doesn't agree with me is a conservative."
Show me one instance where Trump has ever suggested sending US marines on the ground in any foreign conflict. On the other hand, he's on numerous occasion said he opposes forever wars, and spending US money funding other country's militaries, and overall is just pretty isolationist. We saw this during his first term, if you recall. So what, you're just making shit up based on your own personal vibes?
