  • I'm not about to defend my awful country ukkk, but misleading headline. Dimming / turning off street lights off late at night is more of an environmental / energy saving measure, and literally everywhere in the UK has fortnightly bin collection, those are both very standard.

It's also misleading in the other direction, in that it focuses on Birmingham like it's a special case, when maybe literally every local government here is in deficit and cutting vital services. More councils went bankrupt in the last few years than the previous half century. A huge percentage of councils are due to go bankrupt very soon.

The United States has over 2 million armed services personnel who explicitly agreed to be willing to, and you could argue the majority have, conspired in the mass murder of innocents.

Why is "I would hack a website to help china" regarded as crazier than being a soldier for the west?

  • I too really struggle with doing it, but calling in is borderline praxis, it is a good thing to do. Force them employers to learn that people have needs and will not always be at work no matter what.

Keep it short and sweet, don't offer details, and if pushed, claim poop disease, or severe dizziness to the point you can't stand up. No acting required, just keep it boring and vague, you don't know what the cause is.

Honestly, I freak out having to do such calls, it sucks. But it need only be like 20 seconds, done and dusted, then the world is yours to enjoy for a day. "I won't be in today, can't stand up too dizzy, hopefully be there tomorrow", bam.

  • A senior Defense Department official acknowledged the U.S. military engaged in secret propaganda to disparage China’s vaccine in the developing world

Not that this is a revelation, but it confirms the US would still sooner see millions die rather than let China have any influence (or impact western vaccine profits).

Article also makes it clear that Facebook knew about this, and that the Pentagon has recently given the same contractor half a billion to do more of this shit. All the "cyber troll" accusations are mass projection, you really can't trust anything.

  • I'll never understand how people are like "okay I agree to a bit of brainwashing in exchange for watching this :)"

I do my best to actively work at not buying anything I see advertised. Often there's little choice, but I like to think successfully showing me ads is a net negative to the company.

  • This isn't down to you - A good percentage of modern day labour positions are absolutely soul-crushing, other employees tend to only survive it via years of practice deadening their own souls. I once got promoted and then quit my job one month later because dealing with management types absolutely ruined me, it took three weeks before I realised I was drinking every day just to survive. Thankfully I was in a vaguely financially able position to leave that job.

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you do what's best to take care of yourself meow-hug Please be assured that we are proud to have you as a comrade.

Never used the M1/M2s, but I used to install Fedora on all my Intel macbooks and it always ran flawlessly, so it certainly had good support for apple hardware and peripherals back in the day.

Gaming on an ARM CPU is going to be painful no matter what, but as pointed to, x86 and x86_64 emulators are going to be your best bet. You may find a small number of games also offer a native ARM binary, but it's not common.
