It really helps me get over friendship breakups and cope in a more reasonable way, since most of the time I just miss the memories associated with the person.

It’s really too bad Graphene doesn’t seem to support Samsung phones, or any phone that isn’t Google.

I remember I tried out Spotube on my computer but the code wouldn’t work. Also a minus it’s not available on iOS. How does Graphene differ from Lineage, in any way that it is preferable?

I’m not educated enough to comment on most of your points, so here is my set-up:

• Web: Safari on iPhone with Google browser, Firefox + uBlock origin on desktop with Google browser. I had DDG for a while but I missed the short summary answers you get when you type in a question to Google. I am not in a place to pay for a browser (i.e. Kagi).

• Mobile: iPhone with free tier NextDNS. I am looking into buying a Samsung S9/S10 to install LineageOS on. It’s been a while I used Android so I’m not sure how easy that will be. I store all my passwords in Apple’s “Passwords” in settings, and all of them are 20+ characters long and complex (I use a generator whenever I make a new password). Any suggestions on (free/FOSS) password storers?

• Messenger: I use Facebook messenger to communicate with my family as only my sister and I have iOS. Furthermore, FB is the only social media I have besides Lemmy.

• Email: I use ProtonMail but am considering switching to Tutanota. I don’t have the opportunity to pay for a mail provider right now.

• Music/streaming: I use Spotify for music. I use FreeTube for YT on desktop only. My parents pay for Netflix & HBO and so I watch them sometimes, although I have made it a habit to pirate movies online. Also books. Part of me wants to download my music from Spotify and store it somewhere, but iPhone Drive isn’t the greatest when it comes to that. Maybe somebody has (free/FOSS) suggestions?

• Misc: I never pay with cash since most stores don’t take it. I use Bluetooth earphones. I don’t game.

Keep in mind I am relatively new to the piracy / privacy community and there’s a lot of terms I don’t know. I hope to improve my privacy and receive advice from more experienced people. Cheers!

They're not really considered underground since they have 1 million monthly listeners, but I still don't see a lot of people talking about the band Foreign Air. They are known for their hit "Free Animal", but they have so many good songs. I recommend "Your Touch", "Hello Sunshine Pt 2", "Wake Me Up", "Moving On," and "Monsters". Unsure of how to describe their genre, it certainly isn't rock nor bubbly pop...

It sounds ridiculous but I promise I’m being serious. I’m looking for instrumental songs that are from the middle ages / the renaissance, with fun and fast-paced beats that just makes you wanna dance to it. Think of the POTC soundtrack but medieval. An example is the song “Im Maien” by Piffaro. I’m writing a story at the moment that takes place during this time and I could really use some upbeat, party bangers as inspiration lmao.

If you go to your iPhone settings > General > Storage you have the option to either delete an app or offload it (which clears up space on your phone from the app’s cache). Avelon didn’t have this option and it took up a lot of space for me. Hence why I switched.

Your comment actually inspired me to try the free trial for Tidal and I really like it. In the future I might switch over to it from Spotify, at least they seem to pay artists better.

What music platforms would you suggest as an alternative? Apple Music can’t be that much better, can it?

Initially I used Mlem, but I found the scrolling to be not smooth, and I didn’t really like the design. Then I had Avelon for a while, which I would’ve still kept if it wasn’t for the fact you couldn’t off-load it and it took up a lot of data on my phone (2-3GB). Now I use Voyager and I really like it, I think I’ll stick with it for a while. You can customise it a bit, it looks like Apollo, it’s smooth, I’m able to off-load it. It’s great!

When you're angry and on the verge of tears; sounds basic, maybe, but it feels so overwhelming when you're both shaking with anger and at the same time trying to hold in your sadness. Makes you want to both yell at something and curl into a ball and disappear. It's a double negative, which makes it more powerful. I'm not an angry or short-tempered person, so whenever this happens to me I feel so lost and confused with what to do.

If you feel that the weather is affecting your day-to-day life for the worse, absolutely. You are not obligated to stay for family or for a job. Prioritise your health, you can always visit relatives.
