Kindles suck thanks to Amazon lock in, but I pirate all my books and use Calibre to convert/manage my library, and can easily use email to send books to my device. The main reason I stick with this one (paper white) is the battery life. I go a month or two between charges, reading heavily. My wife’s Kobo needs to be charged every couple weeks and she’s a much lighter reader than me.

  • Not accusing you of being racist, but I have seen this same rhetoric used by libs and chuds about Chinese people in a way that certainly feels racist. Personally I’d just avoid this type of criticism that could easily be misconstrued as a cultural critique rather than a national one. There are plenty of things to call out Israel for that don’t run this risk.

I read HPMoR back in the day, I don’t remember any grimdark shit, but he was still writing it when I stopped reading so I’m not surprised to hear it went that direction.

It was so weird to hear the author of HPMoR come up in a recent TrueAnon episode, but not at all surprising to learn that he’s an ai grifter these days.

Star Citizen shit makes me so mad. If a tiny fraction of what they’ve promised actually existed as a functional cohesive game it would probably be sick. When I first heard about SC I was obsessed with it, how could you not be? I know this is the oldest grift in vidya games, but at least Peter molyneux delivered a fun game, if it was a shadow of what was promised.
