People already mentioned Behind the Bastards and I really like that one but it can be hit or miss. Don't start with the newest episode, instead look for one that sounds like an interesting tooic to you and start there. When it's good it's very good.

History of the World in Spy Objects - ok I actually just found this one and haven't had a chance to listen to an episode yet but it looks good and sounds like it might be interesting to you.

Are you by chance stressed out when you're sitting and sweating? I think stress sweat smells worse.

Apparently antiperspirant is not that good for you so I did quit using it for a year or so after the pandemic so I was at home anyways. I would use more natural deodorant without aluminum or anything bad but maaaaaaaaaan my pits stunk and washing with soap didn't even eliminate it. After I started using it again because I couldn't even stand my own BO it disappeared immediately. I don't always shower every day and don't put it on except after showering and drying off and the smell after 2 days without a shower is much more pleasant than half an hour after showering during the time period I wasn't using it. Why that is, idk. You wouldn't think it would be that bad especially if I was showering. I would even try stuff like vinegar on my pits but it didn't help.

I hope that they put them all back on pretty much any other platform so I can unsubscribe from that garbage service. My BF still watches Netflix sometimes so I haven't gotten rid of it, sigh. Put it back there please. That was the only thing I used Netflix for.

I do love me some Onion and they have been so on point sometimes but this is a world news community. Do the guidelines actually allow posting from known satire and/or disinformation sites? Not saying the Onion is disinformation but if satire is allowed then I have to guess disinformation is too.

I love bunnies so much so I tried to read that book and I just couldn't. Even from the start it seems like there's a lot of harsh shit happening to those poor bun buns and it was too much for me to think about.

There probably is at least one instance that isn't federated that's dedicated to csam. These were uploaded to lemmy.world as an attack, and because of the way federation works some of the content is then downloaded onto the servers of other instances when it's viewed or interacted with from a federated instance.

While I understand your concerns, this instance has gotten a fair bit larger and will start to suffer the same issues that lemmy.world does if registrations aren't curbed. It can't grow infinitely. That just isn't feasible for one server. Having closed registrations on lemm.ee doesn't stop anyone from signing up on different instances. A solution might be to temporarily limit registration here in some way, and for the devs and instance admins to find a better way of helping new users choose an instance. The initial sign up process was confusing, and could be streamlined to make it easier for people to choose an instance. In the long term, enhancing the way federation works so users who do sign up on smaller/newer instances don't need to be lemmy savvy to find content would also help alleviate that type of issue.

Nor sure about links but avatars and banners were intentional because those would be images, and all image uploads are suspended for now.

Other platforms also use armies of unpaid volunteers to do it. There are various methods, and with this being an entirely volunteer run an financed platform I really doubt if they is feasible. In the long term I like the idea of using technology to improve detection and moderation even if that requires some development commitment.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they and all the other instances that were hit with this attack probably did. Which authorities, I don't know. If this instance is hosted in Estonia then probably Estonian authorities, but it's probably being hosted on the cloud so is it REALLY hosted in Estonia? There are a ton of American and EU users so hopefully the FBI and whatever the EU equivalent is. But honestly cybercrimes can get confusing because of the nature of people and hosting being spread out all over the world and it can be hard to even figure out who to report to.

Dude the only time my cat gets anxious is when I leave the house for more than 13 seconds. I'm not saying there aren't cats who are miserable indoors but are you gonna seriously act like all cats want exactly the same thing? They have distinct personalities and some are quite content to be in a quiet, safe space with toys and food and loves and a view of all the pretty birds they they can pretend to kill with their toy. Some cats barely even care about killing or exploring. It's almost like they're individuals.

Haha that's how my sister got one of her cats. She lived next door then kind of decided she lived with my sister instead. So my sister went over and told the people their cat kept coming in her house and they were like "whatever keep her we were going to get rid of her anyways." And now my sister has had her for like 10 years.
