It's outrageous to hold public infrastructure at ransom because the equipment spent X days in an independent repair shop - and pretty invasive to have DRM monitoring the train's GPS location, and in some cases live reporting these back to the manufacturer to facilitate a remote lockdown.

Not to mention pushing an update to flag up a copyright warning on a screen in the drivers' cab while the train is running 🤦‍♂️

I commend the engineer at the independent repair facility that had the idea to have hackers pick apart the train's control unit, and the rest of the team for agreeing to it.

Do you actually see your lockscreen or your launcher, or are you just dumped to a "Android is Starting" dialog after the boot animation goes? I'd try to get an adb logcat up to see what the device is doing/gotten stuck on, but you would have needed to authorize your device beforehand...

Are you using Magisk for root or riru? Seeing as you're using a very recent version of Android, I'd say try a dev build of Magisk and see if that works any better. I would have also suggested using an older version of magisk that doesn't exploit via zygote injection, but your version of android is too new. Have a poke around on the github Issues tab and see if anyone else has gotten stuck with the same issue as you.

Another thing would be to try changing your phone's boot slot in fastboot (don't flash, just change slot) - maybe something for the zygote injection is missing from the boot slot your device defaulted to?

He seems to be more reserved and "safe" as you say in videos, to be honest I haven't watched them since because of this.

While we know he puts on an alt personality for the camera it still feels off, where has all the energy gone. "Edgy" Linus IMO was the reason for watching the main LTT channel for me - the hot takes and brutish, stubborn personality et al. It made even the most mundane videos seem at least somewhat entertaining. That and the home server/office networking stuff. Nobody else makes content like that (that i'm aware of anyway).

When that bleeds off camera into company culture, then it's a problem. I hope they find a solution, because things don't feel the same.

IMO Short Circuit is the only other channel where things kinda feel the same, where hosts really let out their personality on camera, but the content there is less varied obviously, mainly ads/showcasing products.

I wear athleticwear when cycling - generally the kind of stuff you'd wear for jogging or running. Not lycra-type stuff though, that has its own set of stereotypes lol.

For me it's boiled down to the type of bike I'm on... if I'm on an ebike, drivers tend to be "twats” with close passes, impatience, hooks, pulling out carelessly and so on. When I'm on my dutch-style upright bike, drivers are much more considerate with giving way, making wide passes etc.

Although since 2020 I find people are driving much, much worse IMO. I would not recommend new cyclists to get out on their bike if their area doesn't have safe and separate cycling infra to use. I've nearly been wiped out a few times from drivers passing with millimeters of space between me and them, and others using their phones and swerving away at the last minute. Slowing down helps to avoid some of these situations though

Was a little bit of a hassle initially to convert various custom init scripts into systemd unit files, but it was worth it IMO. Now the init scripts feel kinda jank in comparison lol.

On a barebones or embedded system I can see a lightweight init having a very big appeal though

I think you'd need to find out where Android is storing the record of apps installed from what store, and change that record to indicate the app was from the play store, instead of Aurora.

It's pretty difficult to come across technical android documentation for this stuff though imo. If you end up being SOL, would the bank's website work OK for your banking needs? If the banking app requires GMS this could get tricky... easiest thing in this situation imo would be to use the website when you move to LOS.
