so we scoured the lease last night to find statements that support the fact that collective punishment is not okay - it had a lot of statements basically saying you're responsible for what you/your guests do. I moved within my city but to an area I'm not super familiar with so I'll look into any kind of tenant organization/board up here in my new neighborhood... given that this isn't the first shady thing this landlord has done (I've lived here for only two months) it seems like becoming a member of the tenantstogether org. might be a good idea, ugh.
