  • I'll pretend this was in good faith.

    he organized unions, led labor actions, and fought for the rights of the working class. these actions had a tangible improvement on the lives of Chicagoans. he was arrested many times for the (accurate) suspicion of being a communist during the 1st red scare.

    maybe you should spend less time shaming people for a thing humans have been doing since the dawn of humanity, and more time organizing. perhaps then people will see socialism as a valid workers movement rather than a collection of people who spend all their time arguing over shit like this that the majority of people don't give a fuck about.


  • whenever I hear people say all leftists should be vegan I'm reminded of my great-grandfather, who was a communist labor organizer in Chicago that worked as a meat packer for half his life, and then half as a butcher, who hunted on the weekends.

    coincidentally, he almost certainly did more to advance socialism than all the moralizing vegans on this site
