Now that you've put that into words, it kinda makes sense. It's because the conservatives don't see queer relationships as equally valid or serious, even if the end goal is the same. That plays a lot into identity: they identify themselves with their "traditions", which includes "family", so when someone different tries to do the same, "oh, they're destroying 'The Family' by trying to have a family!".

It's kinda like gamer guys™ when a gamer girl just exists: "oh, no, she's a gamer girl, let's pick on her! You can't like the same things as me because of your gender!" In the end, conservatism is all about identitarianism ("you can't do x, y and z thint if you're a Man!!")—even though they'll blame that on the Left, because every accusation from the Right is a confession.

An example of "class conciliation". The Pope says this, whilst the Church keeps its power over the Globe in different levels. If he was openly homophobic, probably some secular States would openly attack/sue/reckon this institution, which would open wide the class antagonism and maybe allow a bigger societal pushback against religious control. At the same time, I kinda fear that this Pope might "spring back" into another Pius XI or XII (don't forget that Pilsudski facilitated that).

I'm not very "sensory" and intimate with my relations, but I always encourage it and never treat people's emotions as a joke.

I used to think I wasn't a "very touch and feel person", but a lot of that had to do with social programming. (I'm still not very touchy, but that has to do with consent (knowing I'll be touched), personality of the other person and my sensory issues.) Kinda like "being Rational" is for internetizens. It was a way to project what I wanted to be as a way to cope with not having my emotional needs met (nor the abilities to meet them!). The same goes for smiling and other very normal human things that for some reason our society pathologized.

All my homies hate is a strong word, it gives you gastritis disapprove of toxic masculinity.

This may also be why a lot of New Age people have weird relations with gender, that is, the dualistic feminine-masculine view of everything in the world whilst, at the same time, not breaking out of preconceived ideas of it.

Everything is coded for the same biases. They may break the standard aesthetic representations (like using patterns, florals and other visuals typically associated with New Age) but not the underlying behaviour.

edit: let is be clear that I'm referencing a distro for beginners. Kubuntu is also well-curated -- KDE is prettier, more responsive, more powerful and with such it appeals more -- but Mint's reliability is unparalleled still.

I love KDE and recommend it to everyone, but still recommend Mint first because of its reliability. I could make it run in a 1-core Atom netbook. Truly magnificent.

If you are a beginner, THE distro to go is Linux Mint.

It comes with everything a simple user needs, you can control your updates graphically, make them automatic or not, schedule if you want, have backups/config restore points, and the installation is about 7 GB clean. It basically holds your hands and has good support.

I would NOT recommend Manjaro for starters because it has some weird non-standard ways of dealing with updates: it takes them directly from Arch, which is a rolling distro, but they hold back in their own repositories (servers for programs, which are called packages); if there's a problem (and Manjaro has plenty), you're on their hands. Ubuntu-based distros are, in that way, more supported. Kubuntu, as an example, is more reliable because it takes its sources from Ubuntu, but they have the KDE Plasma Desktop.

If you want to use KDE applications on Mint (and other distros with the GTK engine), you may need to use Qt5 settings to make the themes correct (Qt5 is the engine from the KDE project, GTK is from Gnome's).
