What are some good ways to actually get some Z's?
I'm not completely sure how, but I can fall asleep in roughly a minute once my head hits the pillow, assuming all of the following conditions are satisfied:
I'm at least somewhat tired.
The temperature in the room is good - depending on how many blankets I have, between 60 and 68F.
It's dark, the darker the better. I have blackout curtains.
There is some kind of white noise, usually a fan or air conditioner.
I'm not dirty or sweaty (usually I take a shower right before bed).
I think a big part of it is that I have ADHD-PI. I think a lot of people have anxious thoughts when they are trying to sleep but I just think of my hobbies or something and before I know it, I'm out. I also limit my time in bed to sleeping and fucking only, which helps a lot. It's like a Pavlovian response now where my brain starts closing shop immediately.
That sounds a lot like how I used to be before the last year rolled around
