Might want to use an anonymizer tho. It'd be trivial for them to ban any traffic being referred from here.

True enough. I use a VPN as standard practice. It would be great if we could establish a free alternative for the community.

Even with a VPN, visiting a direct link from here will likely cause a HTTP referrer to be sent to the destination site. I would suggest using something like nullrefer for any direct links.

I'm really stoned, so I want to make sure I understand what you're saying.

VPN or otherwise, you're suggesting that we use a means of obscuring the link source back to Reddit? It's not an issue of IP address, but url, on the off chance that they decide to block traffic from this address?

I'm 80% more tech savvy than the general public, but the last thing I'd want is to cause recruitment issues for our new site.

Yup, that's right. If they decided that we were engaging in brigading, they could quite easily ban all traffic from here based on the HTTP referer. It's not a massive issue though — we could just start using anonymisers if/when they do implement that ban.

I figured as much. I've got links pinned to all the subs I mod, but I'll obscure the link source on any of the larger subs where I post links back to here.
