:reddit-logo: really just running that American exceptionalism headlong into the reality that their government willingly allowed them to die en masse and the only logical conclusion is that everyone else is just cheating

Best part of the best comment:

I feel like China is full of shit. I know they were welding people's apartment doors shut but unless they had a cure ready to go there's no way they managed to keep it under 5000 deaths in a country with that kind of population density.

Bro literally said “there’s no way they could have done it” and then explains how they did it. Unless of course covid can go through welded doors lmao

I also love that everybody is going “CHINA IS LYING ABOUT THEIR NUMBERS!!!!!!” Lmao ok? And you think every other country is being honest and reporting perfectly?

From what I remember, there is some shred of truth to it, but the purpose of it was to block off an unauthorized exit to a large living complex so that everybody going out would pass by the same table to check temperature/ensure contact tracing was accurate. They weren't like, chucking people into jail cells and sealing them shut because they tested positive

My favorite is the large table of underreported covid cases that shows almost every Western country underreporting by 40-60% used as evidence that China is lying.
