Article from a black Zimbabwean here. While it is a bit harsh, most of what is said is true. Especially about Mugabe loathing LGBT people and people he did not see as "civilised enough", (famously hated Bob Marley) and the part about Zimbabweans still hoping from country to country to get work. I know of Zimbabwean engineers that work as maids and cleaners now in South Africa. People with engineering degrees! It's a real tragedy.

I’m kinda surprised to see the term being seen as a novel thing, but that might just be my Terf Island upbringing. For instance, Tankie appeared in Hansard a decade ago, and even Blair was using it as an insult in the mid-90s
It's people just having no connection to socialist party politics, it was all over the UK in labour party and CPGB circles as it originated there in the 1950s.
