50% of my company opted for full remote, 25% opted for 1-2 days a week in the office, 25% opted for 3+ days a week in the office. If this is even close to representative for a reasonably sized SaaS company (I can’t see why it wouldn’t be), remote isn’t going away.
It’s going to be interesting to see the downward effect this has on pay for existing remote
workers. My company plans to reduce salaries by anything up to 33% depending on where people have moved to (out of the HQ location). This seems short sighted at first (pushing salaries to compare with local, rather than remote markets) - but I’m sure they didn’t decide this without consulting/colluding with other companies first. They’ve gotta pay for all that empty real estate they now have, after all :cringe:
