Oh ya, I don't disagree with you or your sentiment at all. I'm just pointing out this unpaid intern posting "as a proud liberal" ironically has the exact same societal effect as the person you argued with who earnestly posted it. Performative liberalism now turns into liberalism in the future.

The harvard lampoon have a long history of being liberal irony trolls @ 22 and growing into rightwing media oligarchs. The concept of 'trolling' is just a way of weaponizing that. At least the liberals @ harvard eventually get paid. Trolling for free is just cuckery.

I think you're using the words satire and irony interchangeably. Satire requires heightening and commentary. Irony-trolling is just word for word saying something an asshole would say with the subtext being /jk. That shit is dumb. Look at the old lampoon issues, its just the racist shit their parents were saying and they thought it was "pwning their dads" to put it in print and say they don't believe it. Nah they were just sharing it. It's like all the idiots trying to pwn someone with a retweet. Dummy you lost the second you retweeted it, that was their goal and you just raised their engagement.

It's just not as easy as "if its true and i enjoy saying it then it must be helpful" and thats the reasoning behind mainstream political satire.
