I mean the average poster there is what, 14? Not a valid excuse but definitely a plausible explanation.

Nah this guy was complaining about how he "couldn't date local women without being judged because he's the only white person there" which immediately set off my nonce and sexpat radar. Just disgusting

        Big ole yike

I hate to admit that this comes from personal exp, but that could just as easily be someone who looks up to older people and takes their wisdom as gospel. Very glad that behavior is behind me.

i really don't think it is, but it definitely feels that way sometimes. a lot of people there are allergic to theory and just think china = good; us = bad; so they base their takes around that instead of an ounce of Marxism. that way you get dogshit takes like the sub celebrating that the Chinese justice system sentenced a foreigner drug trafficker to death. like for real guys?

              You know, acab, but fair.

I have never seen a person have a healthy relationship with meth and whatever this man was doing wasn't gonna end up with that

Makes sense. That kind of go s with what I was saying though: most of the posters are gen z (ostensibly), so even if the average age is more like 18, they don't have the life experience to develop the nuance in their worldview.

Like, this board largely (and correctly) thinks china = good; us = bad, but the belief is much deeper than merely that, so we can deviate from it where is violates our deeper reasoning.

It is a good rule of thumb. Yeah they got boomers there and stuff but them not being in a gentrocratic death cult kinda minimizes the number of times shit like that comes up.
