I was stunned: He's the biggest one I've ever seen by a country mile. Several times larger than the normal moths I'm used to.

Upon research, I think he might be this species, the Black Witch (A male to be more specific, since they apparently lack the white lines female do and can be pretty dark brown, like the guy in #5 of this slideshow ).

Says they're the biggest in the U.S., and I believe it!

    Don't worry about the death and misfortune thing, moths are just night butterflies.
