Remember when he was working to help free Lula in Brazil, listening to weekly updates with our boy :michael-laugh:. What happened to that Greenwald

He hasn’t changed at all, he’s just a guy with the political sophistication of a high schooler. His work in Brazil is still good

he wanted money and had no principles. It's really more of a yp that you think a professional journalist believes in anything lmao

I posted in mega before closing: did he really simp for livermectin on the grounds of free speech?

Edit: I meant not usage, but allowing free debate on merits of dewormers as medical practice,I guess

tbh the way he's wording it greenwald might be referring to the valid point that trump is a mcdonald's-loving fat hog who is obsessed with television and that's the source of his appeal

People love public personalities for who they present as, not who they really are. Trump really was what you describe, but that's not how he presented himself. People loved the jerkoff billionaire. See also: Elon Musk

Yea he's right. DT was looked at as a bafoon amongst the upper echelons of government and finance (mostly because his fake media persona imo), though that is what he aspired to and what he fashioned himself to be. That's how he nurtured his base of regional/local bourgeois who also hate the coastal elites from their position of envious resentment.

"the clownish one is such an outsider "

Obviously not, but that's how many people perceive him.

They didn't personally love the guy, but they knew he'd reliably act in their class interest (or at least could be easily distracted from acting against it). And even this may be overstating how much of social outsider he was -- remember how he was at some wedding with the Clintons, and was invited to the White House Correspondents' Dinner? The Glenns are doing half-baked high school clique analysis instead of class analysis.

Trump still has a lot of support because:

      1. He's good at conning rubes, and he conned a bunch of rubes to think he's an outsider.
      2. They can't admit their mistake because that would mean they've been owned.
      3. If you're delusional all by yourself you're a crank; if you're delusional with half the country you're a political party.

and he conned a bunch of rubes to think he’s an outsider.

Yes, that's his point. Greenwald says in the clip that his appeal is that in the media it seems like the Clintons, McCains and so on look down on the way Trump behaves. People see that's he's hated by the people they hate themselves, and that's why they support Trump.

Greenwald has always been a right libertarian fool who's more focused on being "anti-estastablishment" than trying to understand how things work.

Don’t get why people defend Greenwald and other so called “progressives” who go on chud media with the same “he’s exposing their viewers to new ideas.” They only want you to bash Dems, they aren’t listening to anything else.

I don't get it - what exactly do you disagree about? In the clip provided in the tweet both Glenn's seem pretty on point about explaining Trump's appeal.

The part that's obviously a lie? Propagating the myth that trump is any different than any other rich fuck is purely disingenuous and playing into the self fulfilling prophecy nonsense "Duhhhh trump is so popular because of this myth we keep pushing that he isn't part of the same cabal despite there being zero reason to believe that and a bunch of evidence why it's bullshit"

His history of making money with them and being in all the same rich fuck clubs and hanging around with people like the clinton's obviously, the only reason that elites dislike trump is the typical neolib civility obsessed reason, he's boorish and uncouth
