This comment was on an /r/news thread about how bad vaccine disparity between rich and poor countries is.

The thread itself was only at +23 when I found it and this was at +6 when I first saw it.

The idea that we have any kind of moral high ground when apparently more people agree with this asshole than disagree is wild.

Good thing there are no negative consequences to letting COVID run rampant in other countries, since vaccines are 100% effective and it's impossible for the virus to mutate

    can be spared

I don’t remember the exact amount but the us and Uk hoarded several times over what’s needed for its citizens. There’s plenty to be spared that’s not the fucking issue. Fuckin smooth brained libs

Even if you reject morality and focus on being ruthless, the best thing to attempt is to fight Covid everywhere. Making sure the global south gets vaccinated means there's fewer reservoirs for new strains to pop out from and attack supply chains and markets.

China: "We are ruthlessly fighting COVID everywhere."

America: "The Chinese are so ruthless! We're just going to let this thing play itself out the free-market way."

America, two years later: "QUIT ASKING FOR HANDOUTS OR WE WILL KILL YOU TO DEATH!"

I like when people are such selfish assholes that they fail at recognizing their own self-interest. Truly stupid and shitty people.

How do I benefit when you become resistant to a communicable disease?

No Commie's ever answered that one.

    Later in the same thread:

Yes, the value of your life IS dependent on where you live. Yes, living in a developed nation does, and should, provide you with greater access to better care.
