They're perfectly willing to destroy the biosphere for the sake of their yellow peril-ism and yet somehow we're the "extremists"

The only conclusion that I can draw from this is that any position less than demanding full-out war against China is a leftist one.

"fears anything that seems like warmongering"

Hey even just from a pragmatic standpoint, maybe it's not a great idea to provoke a pointless war against a massive country that the US has no hope of defeating on their own soil unless they start nuking.

    an irrelevant but fascinating fringe

Calling it now no matter how big the "tankie" left gets we'll always be described as "irrelevant".

NYT calling people irrelevant is rich considering no one I know my age reads the newspaper, much less pays for a subscription lol

It already is. I got called a Tankie by a coworker for espousing social Democratic views. This guy is all over the map politically though, just a fucking mess. Has said many contradictory things. So it’s whatever.

Are you all ready for the nightmare of when "tankie" will replace "bernie bro"?

Summary of the shitty little article: No James Bond villain has every been a member of the CCP because movie franchises need to penetrate the Chinese market. In the future, James Bond movies and other franchises should use the CCP as an antagonist in their stories because Americans need to understand their government's "rival" better.

Oh and the author implies that a military containment approach to china is more "realistic" than one which calls for cooperation between the two countries for the sake of slowing down climate change.

Question: how does one consume american media without becoming a Maoist-Third Worldlist?

Hey, all that seems correct but they didn't mention "tankies" have usually the correct takes

I am just in pain over the term tankie gaining any mainstream usage. Seriously, leave this word to leftist spaces, I'm begging you.

As funny as this is, it might also be the liberal media circling their wagons, finally recognizing they're much closer to Bernie Sanders social democrats than they are to leftists. It's becoming harder and harder for them to refuse to even acknowledge leftists.

Or that's what I would think if it weren't fucking Ross Douthat lmao, who is an utter cretin

How long is it before Marjorie Taylor Greene calls AOC a tankie?

Christ, how long until AOC calls MTG one?

We just got out of an election in which Trump the sitting Republican President was called a Communist. Democrats are just reinventing the John Birch Society for Liberals.
