hackernews is so weird. like, not only is it all tech people ("-bros," as they're known), but it was started by and for a startup incubator, so mammon worship is the default position. but then like occasionally you get stuff like this where someone will get points for saying (correctly) "yeah us programmers don't really contribute anything to society."
