The KMT does not represent Taiwan. He basically repeats the CPC take, which in this case is factually incorrect. I'm glad to defend CPC takes if they're correct.
How can invaders of a country that oppressed the people there, and are literally referred to as foreigners, be representative of the country?
The KMT to the CPC exists in two simultaneous states, they're the bad guys that lost the war and represent Taiwan, but they're also allies in their confrontation against the DPP which verbally trolls the CPC and spends money on anti-CPC propaganda (which is bad IMO but given their circumstances it's understandable).
Also Taiwan hasn't claimed ownership over the mainland since the late 80s when the KMT's party was voted out.
And even more importantly, the CPC threatens to invade Taiwan if they rescind KMT claims aka "declare independence". I personally don't think they will, it's just a giant LARP.
Evidence: 1. The CPC has been saying it for decades
2. Property values have not fallen in Taiwan. If Taiwan is truly to become a battleground, prices would plummet.
3. Taiwanese businesspeople aren't fleeing the country 4. Tsai has been trolling the CPC, continually "crossing the line". She has said that Taiwan is already independent and she's had US marines visit.For the record I don't like the DPP joining the US in their fake news propaganda against China but I think it was demanded by US leadership for defacto protection against CPC invasion. The US has a tendancy to demand things from other countries.
This article sucks- which is disappointing because I wanted to read some actual analysis instead of racists/transphobic/masturbatory nonsense. It was interesting in a way to showcase how it seems if you hold the aforementioned bullshit in your brain, it must take up too much space because in the end it prevents you from making any interesting cogent points. Like, at first I was reading it and they're like "here's why the Chinese military isn't to be messed around with/they love their missiles, etc" and I was like "oh boy I get to see some numbers, get down into the nitty-gritty" then its like a 120 second video of Chinese military propoganda of some dude launching a chinese javelin. No substance. Garbage. Dogshit.
