There's just so much fucking plastic in the ocean now. My grillpilled hobby is perfumery, and I've seen chunks of ambergris. Ambergris is a floating waxy substance exuded by the digestive system of the sperm whale (it helps them blunt the edges of squid beaks they've eaten, so that their insides don't get ripped up), and after aging/chemical reactions on the ocean for months it becomes incredibly fragrant and washes ashore where collectors find it.

Most lumps of ambergris now have layers of plastic bags embedded inside them.

This is great. I also like to turn it into a game - can you make cuts such that you get a single piece of plastic at the end? [be sure to also cut up the now-very-long strand of plastic you've created]

I'm militant about this but then I feel bad for making lots of smallish plastic bits.

We need that plastic eating bacteria to go wild sooner rather than later.

I hate when liquor stores do that thing where they unbox a case and put 6 bottles in those little plastic carriers. First off, they clang all around real loud so everyone knows I got beer. Second, I have to spend 90sec cutting them up. Just give me the cardboard so the beers just slide out and I can just throw it in the recycling.
