I want to eventually make a post out of it, but I had an idea and wonder what you think about it.
It might be useful to control the narrative on :reddit-logo: a little better if we created: /r/LessTankieSubreddit & /r/MoreTankieSubreddit for a bunch of existing subs (not all at once, obviously), but control both and feed them both suitable content to steer people left. We could probably pipeline the /r/MoreTankie subs' users here.
We should also take tally of the subreddits with mods here. It could be useful to share resources or coordinate action
The problem is that if you want to direct people in a certain direction, you cannot have an obvious pipeline like that. it has to be incredibly subtle or you risk having the reactionaries flood in and freak out. for instance in GCJ, we got it to be like 80% lib and 20% leftist because we simply dont tell people that we ban them for being conservative. we just do it. any more obvious that that and people start to get a little weird, ESPECIALLY if its a large place. If you want to pipeline people like you suggest, you have to be fairly explicit in the content, and try and get people there through other methods so that they already are in some sort of agreement before they even arrive. You cant just change minds that easily without people getting upset, but you can curate people OUT of the group. Libs of course are just FAAAR harder to deal with.
I do think we should have a tally of mods though, just because i would like to know which subs are good to work with if necessary.
we have contingency plans in place for my removal, its all gucci
