Sources close to the Japanese Prime Minister say he plans to step down to deal with a health problem. Abe Shinzo is scheduled to hold a news conference later in the day to explain his decision.

I like know shit about Japan's politics other than their Communist party are soc dems (wouldn't be able to exist otherwise) and the largest non ruling Communist party in East Asia, and Liberal Democrats are shit but always remain in power.

    i dont know much about his economic policies (tho im just gonna assume based off of what i know its neoliberalism and austerity?) everything else i knew about him, he was a little shit so

      Somewhat ironically the DPJ was way more into austerity when they took power. Abe's tenure has generally been about mild tax increases and continued big spending. He is (relatively) big on deregulation.
