Well, since Russians were allowed to use TCP/IP protocols to access the global Internet in 1991, about 30 years or so?

the anti russia propaganda budget is about 300 million a year (??) i think right now. so there's going to be a lot of low-effort stuff because it's basically free money.

Thinking about how there's more English speakers in China than America, and the absolute western meltdown that would occur if the CPC dropped the firewall.

Imagine Chinese internet users being able to access Reddit freely lmao.

They would NEVER get their precious concern-trolling about Chinese activity to the top page of ANY subreddit EVER AGAIN.

. . . . Mr Xi tear down this fire wall

Wouldn't even need the Chinese internet. If they wanted, just 1% of CPC members could overrun reddit. That always puts into perspective how irrelevant reddit is.

The great firewall isnt for them, but for us. The moment it goes down, the shitposting brigade would take over the internet.

I don't think that's true at all. China doesn't have nearly that many English speakers.

I double checked and it seems the figure I was thinking of was for "learners", not "fluent speakers", so you're right.

I reject your notion that there is a proper english to which all other variants can be measured up against

I'm not sure where Palin stands on Russia right now.

I think the GOP likes Russia because the Dems don't? but not for any actual reason other than Owning the Libs.

Thinking about how the USSR started developing OGAS in 1962, a full 4 years before the ARPANET project began
