I hated the Sword and Shield starters, so I'm pretty surprised that I ended up liking all three of the Scarlet and Violet starters.
The fire starter is the best tho, look at this chill little dude!
If you want to see all three starters yourself here
The region looks like it might be based on spain? I don't know. Anyone else have an idea what they're basing the region off of? The trailer here shows a bit of it off
Looks like they're continuing the open-world theme from Legends, seems rad. A little worried that a new game is coming out so soon, it will probably be rushed :sadness:
But whatever, it looks good so far and I just want to enjoy a little hype as a treat because everything fucking sucks right now.
So, what do you think and what starter do you like the most? Do you have your own hype, doubt or speculations? Share!
my uncle's brother's friend's barber's fiancee's niece's dog sitter's estranged spouse works at nintendo
We haven’t seen the finale evolutions yet so you might be speaking too soon
I am tentatively hyped. Shield was boring to me, and I just started arceus. The story is bland but I love the gameplay mostly.
I’m biased having lived in Spain so the new area will be dope.
In love with fuecoco, and the others are ok as well.
Oh man I hadn't seen that Quilfish, I love it. Reminds me of the tall Exeggutor, its proportions are just right to be hilarious but not dumb.
I love how its signature attack is just whipping you with its neck so hard that you take dragon damage.
the region's based on the Iberian peninsula. I always go with grass starters, but this one looks so bland, and I kind of think Fuecoco is so adorably derpey.
Incidentally, I saw a meme on twitter that referenced how many Spanish flags feature Scarlet, but only the flag of the second republic featured violet, and they were the ones murdered by Franco.
Water starter isn't a bad design but doesn't really appeal to me. Fire starter is my favorite, but I also feel like they're a lot more likely to botch his evolutions than the grass starter :/
Wow, I wasn't excited at all about Sword and Shield, but this pokemon game actually looks like it might be cool, like gamefreak was actually listening to the Sword and Shield criticism.
Legends: Arceus has been good so far so I think they're moving in a positive direction.
