Ireland stop being extremely based challenge

      difficulty: inconceivable

Eddie: it really reaffirms how extremely correct our analysis of imperialism is when Ireland is the only European country that was colonized by Europe and most consistently opposes imperialism around the world

I'm pretty sure that they were the first country to divest and sanction South Africa. Keep in mind that when this happened it was a more conservative government. I could see them being the first with Israel as well.

I genuinely want to visit Ireland at some point. Seems like a very cool country.

that's not true, every European country was colonized. Ireland was the only one to reassert its borders(so far).

The celts in England were overtaken by anglo-saxons, and then they were overtaken by the French. The germanic states were overtaken by Prussia, and then pushed about by other european powers after ww1. The Scottish were placed under the English and have had their culture mocked for centuries. Much of France didn't speak French until their languages and local cultures were replaced with things from the Parisians. The netherlands were a property of Spain for some time before Spain lost the ability to control them. Cornwall and Wales are still being colonized by the British, albeit not as harshly as many less white colonies. Parts of Spain have been fighting for independence for some time now. The Sami people who were in much of Scandinavia were colonized in the same way the native americans were. The Ottomans colonized the Balkans; at least, the parts that weren't colonized by Austria-Hungary. Italy also was under the control of Austria-Hungary at times. The nobility of many of these countries may not have felt the pain of colonization, and they have their long "glorious" histories, but the people were colonized.
