that's a bold move for a company that has very little anyone wants to watch on it anymore

Marketing and revenue have zero idea how to handle the concept that Netflix WAS super popular, and now a bunch of people just sort of are used to it as a recurring fee and don't think about it at this point. I'd bet a bunch of them somehow think they must be doing something correctly, and aren't considering this at all.

If they keep pushing they'll lose more and more of this apathy-based subscription that's keeping them afloat lol.

Yeah, at this point, the worst thing I can imagine Netflix doing is reminding people that they're paying for it. That's a problem that will keep getting worse too, as younger more tech savvy people are unwilling to enter their system at all in favor of more quasi-legal ways to access media. I don't know all that many young people that pay for their own Netflix, and if mine were to get cut off, I wouldn't go get my own sub, I'd forget it existed in the first place.

The biggest thing I like about netflix is getting exposed to a ton of stuff from around the world. South Korea (how do we not have a burning flag emoji for them) has tons of cool shows, germany has bunches of stuff I would have never heard of. I've gotten to see stuff from Brazil and Bolivia and a bunch of other countries. Most of the stuff is netflix original so I really appreciate being exposed to all of those shows and movies. But yeah other then international (non english) programing netflix doesn't have a lot going for it.

What are your favorite German shows? I liked Dark but that's the only one I've really been hooked on.

Tribes of Europa was good, kinda standard post apocalyptic show but cool to see how other countries imagine it. And the bad guy is basically an Amazon AI. I watched the first few episodes of Barbarians and it seem really cool, an actual German take on the history of the early Germanic tribes interactions with the Romans. There were a few German movies I liked but I can't find the titles now. If you're looking for some other stuff To the Lake is a Russian post apocalyptic show. Ghoul is an Indian horror mini-series that I remember really liking. 3% is a Brazilian dystopian series, the first two season are really good, the third season feels like it was just tacked on and not really worth watching.

Thanks (and thank you to the other responses, as well). I'll check those out.
