What’re the odds we make it past the mass evictions in August without a massive uprising? In most countries it’s be enough for people to take to the streets and start burning shit down but the US is so fucking housebroken I feel like we might just sit there and take it

Feels like outside of a few cities like Portland, the momentum has fizzled in spite of the fact that police brutality has gotten worse with almost no action taken by the government to curb it

Given how inefficient the courts are I doubt ~50% of all renters are going to become homeless all at once. If I had to guess this would appear as a slow-rolling crisis. We definitely have our work cut out for us. With agitation, proper politicization, and organizing this feels like it could be a paradigm shift.

I wouldn't be surprised if landlords just called the cops to evict people even without a court order.
