mainstream media used to run stories about how :kim-jong-il: abducted a Japanese chef who had to make him sushi while being held hostage in DPRK for several decades and this r*dditor just assumes that :kim-peace: loves sushi just as much as his dad. The sharkfin soup is most likely just the usual anti-asian racism a reddit brain makes up on the fly, the reports about Kim Yong-Ils sushi hostage only described how fond he was of sea urchin sushi when they got into naming specific dishes that the chef had to prepare.
I wonder, with so many 'hostages' that the Kim family has kidnapped and forced to make art and food and hang out, how many of those are actually just doing kayfabe to not be labeled as traitors and defectors? Maybe some of them are just sympathetic to Cool Korea and didn't want their family to get harassed at home.
