Dad Rock gets a lot of hate around here but I think everyone has at least one that they like.
It's certainly not an obscure one but mine is definitely Crazy Train because it makes me nostalgic af for playing Madden 2011 on the Wii with my brothers.
Still kills me how many right wing politicians have used that song at rallies.
Makes me wonder, what of today's music will be the dad rock of the future?
Music Lover: * Through sobs * you can't just say everything is Dad Rock.... Please....
Me: * points at Green Day * Dad Rock
* me, definitely not mad, searching for cheap marketing analytics datasets to prove dads don't listen to green day*
The first album I remember listening to over and over was American Idiot, which I took from my dad
Carry on Wayward Son by Kansas, and (Don't Fear) The Reaper by Blue Öyster Cult. Yeah, they're dad rock but like... they're good.
Ramblin Man by the Allman Brothers. That intro just cheers me up and I love it's energy.
Yeah that song has such a good vibe. It feels like a perfect song for a diner jukebox
REM - It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
I used to listen to this song on a cassette that my dad recorded from the radio
The Guitar Hero / Rock Band set lists got me to appreciate Dad Rock's Greatest Bangers
Really depends on the dad.
My dad? Immigrant Song, Zeppelin
His dad? Some shit by Tommy Dorsey, idk
My partner's bio dad? Welcome to the Jungle, GnR
Her step-dad? Brian Wilson, BNL
Green Grass & High Tides - The Outlaws. Always kicked my ass on the drums in rockband and it’s such a long song so to restart always sucked. Still love it though
