It’s highly amusing to me that this fucking government, of anyone, would have the gall to use prevention of the spread of COVID to deny migrants the ability to submit asylum applications. Just pure racist trash.

    I never understood the emphasis for "big tent" Democrats. All it does is make sure your party goes further right. Does having a majority even matter when a large portion of them vote with the Republicans?

      Of course the other comment is right, feature not a bug, but the ideological liberal sees it as vindicating to have a "big tent." The coalition of "different interests" is their goal, they don't want to use that coalition to create change. Because liberal ideology is always disconnected from material conditions, they see the victory as having a healthy debate of different ideas. So when the tent gets bigger (read: adds more conservatives and their positions) their position is justified. "Everyone is getting on board, of course we're right."

      It is an ideological cover for moving to the right.

    So Covid is on the table or not, the dem confuse me sometimes. On one hand they want to ignore Covid so they could go back normal life, but on the other hand, they use Covid as a reason to prevent migrant to submit asylum
