      Also, whatever action any government takes will have some unitended consequences so you can pretty much guaruntee that you can find Bad Thing associated with it.

        Unless it is some means tested garbage like tax credits which will inevitably only get used by people wealthy enough to have accountants.

        Then it is brilliant. No poors getting aid, only the nebulous middle class that must always be appealed to.
