    I need to see this movie. I need you to secure funding for this movie immediately.

    Could the filmmakers be sued if they actually used Disney instead of a fictional stand-in? Or would Disney simply use their power to make sure they never found work again?

    Honestly I watched Soylent Green about 3 years ago and I walked away fucking broken. Everyone remembers the whole bit about "soylent green is people" but if you take into account the people depicted you see a horrifying future. A man with a M-16 dozes off while guarding a stairwell. The stairwell is filled with starving children sleeping together for warmth, piled up under the barrel of the gun.

        yeah that was fucked up too, the casual misogyny was maybe par for the 70s but it was gross to me, objectifying until they are literal objects, maybe I can see the artistic idea behind it but eh, still gross, there are better ways of getting the idea across
