Picture courtesy of wikipedia which has the bonus of a suspension bicycle stem. These were also tried in the MTB Scene in the 90s and have fallen out of favour for, quite honestly, sucking ass, but they're coming back now for the gravel trend where the 40mm of travel on an otherwise rigid-forked bike suddenly makes sense again

    A big hinge and spring seem pretty hard to fuck up.

    I'd be more concerned that the peddles and seat having 2" to move around relative to each other would feel really weird.

      That's pretty par for the course for every suspension seat and they're not really uncommon tbh

      I've never heard of these things failing catastrophically to be honest but it just looks jank as shit
