This comment also rang true for me:
"This video just made me realize how far behind the West is falling to China. Compared to this my city (Los Angeles, USA) looks like a drooling pile of hot garbage that hasn't been updated since 1980."
I get that feeling a lot when I'm walking home and realize that outside of the cars and clothing everything would look the same if it was 1970. I keep thinking back to when they made propaganda of people from the soviet union seeing the 1980s US and being shocked except now that's us stuck in all this rot watching modernity arrive elsewhere.
