The only thing I've deciphered from it is that you're very sure that you're correct about whatever position you hold. If you think you're more correct than medicine, replace medicine. Surely someone with as much brain mileage as you can decide better. Go do it.

Alternatively slap yourself in the mouth I guess. A better use of your hand than typing.

Are you equating doctors with cops and does their authority come from the same level of education about the systems they control? Can you think of a reason why that control might exist outside of "cop-brain"?

edit: And I do respect that you even went beyond the dare I was setting up. I was going to suggest that if you slap yourself hard enough we'll see whether you treat the broken jaw at home or at a hospital. Chainsaw is much better but I wouldn't have gone for the melodrama. Are you going to be a cuck under the vascular surgeon's knife or will you rise to the occasion and be a rugged individualist? That stay in the ICU I'll grant you is real Panopticon shit but not because the doctor signs off on paperwork and goes off someone else's protocols under the supervision of multiple hospital boards they can't influence.

Shut the fuck up you absolute debate nerd ass loser, jesus christ. Read the room. Can you think of a reason you're consistently less supported everywhere in this thread than the people calling you out on your shit? You chose a post about a mass shooting that seems at least partly caused by this monstrous medical system to punch down on "pillseekers" and addicts, and are continuing to dig in your heels with some Calvinist horseshit about "well sorry you think about blowing your head off every single day but have you considered that other hypothetical people might be irresponsible, so you'll just have to suffer".

For perspective, I want fascists everywhere to simply drop dead, like the flick of a lightswitch. I wouldn't wish upon them the suffering you glibly and smugly condemn so called "pillseekers" to. And to go hijack a conversation among chronic pain sufferers to copsplain about how actually they simply don't understand? Dipshit. Asshole. Ghoul. Liberal.

Can you think of a reason you’re consistently less supported everywhere in this thread than the people calling you out on your shit?

Because most if not all of them don't work in medicine and at least a few are in the demographic I'm discussing presenting the dimension of it I've already said multiple times cannot be controlled to their standard without consequences beyond the complaint being addressed. That same disconnect is there with most things in emergency medicine so I get it but I can't do anything about it and I know what happens when it's unilaterally indulged in one person and then applied to the next person. It's not whatever little insult you want to try next on me, it's conflicting individual needs along with collective needs and how a structure is set up to address both. It's not going to be perfect but unless you're willing to do better then you've done nothing to help these people and I've saved their fucking lives so shut your hole.

You chose a post about a mass shooting that seems at least partly caused by this monstrous medical system to punch down on “pillseekers” and addicts, and are continuing to dig in your heels with some Calvinist horseshit about “well sorry you think about blowing your head off every single day but have you considered that other hypothetical people might be irresponsible, so you’ll just have to suffer”.

I discussed the specific demographic he's a part of in the context of why he's doing the shooting and the similar outbursts that routinely happen because of that exact issue using similar language to this thread. They're not hypothetical people, they're the people who enter that same bed five minutes after that person leaves it. They're 24 hours of that bed being rotated out along with all of the others in the hospital under the same protocol. 365 days a year. Whatever complaint gives one of them pain, half a dozen might have the same issue that same day. They'll get different drugs for that and some might get narcotics. There are other factors included in that decision beyond the patient's wants and if you don't see that then you have a very obscured view of how hospitals work. If you're blaming me for that poster's suicidality when I'm not involved in their care, know nothing about their issue, and am not a prohibitionist then I don't know what to tell you other than nope. There are many factors that go into any one person's pain and the ways it can/should be controlled and the way that treatment exists and their access to it. It's not a magic pill to save the world and we're literally living the reality of pretending it was.

I wouldn’t wish upon them the suffering you glibly and smugly condemn so called “pillseekers” to

The only person I condemned was a mass shooter. I mentioned the demographic he's a part of because it's the reason he is a mass shooter. The pillseekers I've treated were condemned to alternative medications and therapies along with addiction counseling if that was appropriate in that case. The stigma only exists as hesitation backed by new protocols, and hesitation is prudent when treating one thing might cause another or reinforce a bad protocol.
