Damn. Looks like a lot of fun. If I had space on my dance card, I'd sign up. The only d% I've played was Call of Cthulhu, but I did Alternity back in the day and I'm all about that space age horror.

If you end up doing any journals or streams or other social media follow along, I'll happily gobble this slop up afterwards.

I appreciate the engagement with my post, I may do write-ups but I do not have money to commission art (and do not know how to do it myself), and I would not want to use others art in an unauthorized way on a stream,. So that is not likely to happen.

That said, if there is anyone that you know who would be interested to play & who would be available at the within the stated schedule; I would be very appreciative if you could direct them to my post.

I have almost 0 ttrpg experience, but I'd love to learn if your group is willing. Do you have sense what the general tone of the campaign and players is (lots of jokes, heavy RP, combat focused)?

    Saturdays from 6pm-10pm EST

Interested but this is a clash with an anime stream I run weekly unfortunately Struggle! My other issue is that I can only do text chat and think you should prioritise mic since it's obviously a better experience. But count me in if there's any rework of scheduling and space despite being text.

I may be able to make adjustments to the day we run on, it would likely still have to be weekends though. I'm p sure I can get my two friends to agree to a day change, but I am also searching other forums for players & would need to make sure it is acceptable for anyone I can pick up from there. Text-only would be very difficult to accommodate though.

If it's not impolite of me to ask, is it a matter of lacking equipment, or personal privacy?

Privacy. I've played DnD games in text before and it works although is a little slower, so I don't mind. But it's a limitation for me for online play. Like I said before you should definitely prioritise mic as voice is much better, I've played many offline groups! <3

Hiya, sorry for taking a while for response, I was asleep.

Anyhow, so I have been thinking; text-only (at least for yourself) may not necessarily be the biggest problem with engaging with the game, there are actually one or two character classes where it would arguably make sense in character to communicate that way in a weird way. And also I want to say that I understand that you would wanna keep your privacy with people that you've never personally met before, and I'm not gonna press on that matter further. However now that I'm thinking about it IDK if it's fair of me to ask other prospective players to unilaterally completely change the day we're gonna run on for one other player.

Can I ask if would it be possible for you to show up at least for the one Session Zero, so that I/you could explain the situation & we could get everybody to get consensus on what to do ahead of time (That is either change the day, or go on without you)?

I can come by for session zero. Will be distracted as I'll be running an entirely different event but should be able to at least chit chat about the problem. I'm totally cool with it if other players are happier at their times or with mics, I'm easy really, lots of games out there. We actually ran our own game on Sundays at a slightly earlier time for the longest time until our the DM could no longer run it.

Out of interest what classes are you referring to? I haven't played this particular game before so I'm interested in why that would be fitting?

One of the classes is the Astropath Transcendent, it's one of only about 2 "proper" spellcasters in the game. They are natural telepaths & must undergo a ritual of spiritual binding to the Emperor/The Golden Throne in order to "ensure their loyalty & mental discipline" (this is something which is carried out by the Inquisition/Ecclesiarchy on all psychically sensitive individuals in the Imperium). This process leaves them physically blind, though they do still possess a kind of mage-sight that lets them see outlines of physical space & directly perceive the spiritual energy of living beings, and it can also lead to other complications & malignancies.

In role-play terms the ritual of binding doesn't actually require you to do, or prevent you from doing anything in particular (although it does give you bonuses against demonic possession); it just means that you are one of the relatively few people in the galaxy to have ever personally laid eyes upon the Throne (which is partly why you are blind), and that's a status carries a certain authority of it's own. The actual role that they have on the ship is communications, incidentally, as an Astropath Transcendent is functionally a living telephone switchboard for the Imperium's only method of FTL communications, that being telepathy.

There is also the Explorator, who are agents of the Adeptus Mechanicus & as such occasionally do not actually speak in organic languages, but what is known as the Cant Mechanicus or "Binary Chatter".

More seriously though, this is basically speaking in religious gibberish with a mechanical/digital twist while still being overall logical/strategic in thought. I could work with that. Being one of the only people to have looked at the throne seems important though, like it's something you should know more lore about the throne to be able to play properly.

Alas, I cannot play because my scheduling is a fuck. Played in a Deathwatch game years ago and it was pretty fun, though obviously the spess mahrines are at a higher power level than RT. Killing 52 Termagants with one burst of a Storm Bolter was good times.
