Intentionally changing "men" to "people" even though the founding fathers explicitly said men (not women) are equal and implicitly that white men (not black men are equal. And even then, only rich white men were really considered "equals".

well it's founded on the idea that all white plantation owning dudes are created equal and are free to impose their weird fundamentalist ideas on others who are not created equal, so snopes would give that statement zero out of five pinocchios

      American history:

The noble settlers first arrived to the completely deserted and empty Americas in the 16th century. However, they were quickly subjugated by the oppressive British regime, with horrors such as "please wait another few months before you do your next massacre we're not ready to break our treaty yet" uhh something something freedom. Everyday people? Uh, well, obviously the immense suffering endured by the aristocrats is of far more importance. Slaves? Is that like, a brand of coffee? Anyway, George Washington fell out of heaven one day and told King George he didn't like tea. This made him very upset so he ordered his troops to do the Boston Massacre. Washington, however, quickly formed the Continental Army, composed of seven people and their dogs, and defeated the British army in a few days because they just couldn't suppress the 'Murican spirit. Tactics? I don't know what you're talking about. The colonists won because God made it happen. After this, everyone lived happily ever after under their God-ordained freedoms. There were some wars here and there leading up to 2001, when 9/11 happened, wherein the evil muslamic terrorists destroyed the beautiful twin towers for no reason other than their hatred of our freedom. We quickly put those Arabs in their place though. God bless America!

That’s not even true at a very basic level. There are tons of countries that in their constitutions claim to be founded on the idea of equality. Its super common because most people at least claim that equality is good because equality is obviously good.

He said Swedes and Russians are too swarthy. Germans were ok in his book as long as they came from Saxony, which is generally considered to be the most backwards and cracker-ass part of Germany and also the place were the current royal family of TERF island, House Saxony-Coburg-Gotha, are from.

There was once a time when people in other countries actually believed the hype of the US. Many people still do, but more and more are getting turned off. The EU has become the new gold standard for a lot of people in the global south.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the EU either, but I do consider it a superpower for this reason. It's hard to see when you're in the Imperial Core, but it's clear from outside the Imperial Core that the EU stands alongside the US and China as the three superpowers.

There was a time in the 90's and early 2000's when every young person wanted a US passport. I only really hear that nowadays from older generations and some Millennials, Gen Z and most millennials are looking at the EU. For all of its flaws, the EU has safety regulations and a standard of living that we could only dream of.

China is admired for its industrial growth, but the standard of living is still seen as better than ours but not quite at the EU level yet. That's likely to change soon.

I don't live in the international community and people here do indeed yearn for american and european passports unfortunately (though China also has a strong and growing reputation)

Just communicating my personal dislike of :eu-cool:
