That dude is clearly biased and keeps accusing anybody who says anything negative about abe as paid by China. Somehow Reddit doesn't see through the obvious shill. South Koreans weren't fans of Abe's shenanigans either. Japan's treatment of the Ainu and Okinawans is also genocidal.

There's no shortage of white Western migrants in Japan who admire the ethnostate and don't appreciate the irony that they're fucking up the very thing that they admire.

damn it's almost like the japanese government is a one-party bourgeois dictatorship of the Japanese liberal democratic party (backed by the US) that is filled with far right psychos and has only lost a single election since 1955. Damn it's almost like the Japanese government has never acknowledged their war crimes against China, particularly the r*pe of nanking. Damn it's almost like Chinese people can and SHOULD celebrate the death of the Nippon Kaigi fascist Shinzo Abe, even if he was killed by a far right loner.

This is ridiculous enough in its own right, because even if you do recognize Taiwan as a country the idea of getting involved in a "defensive war" in another country doesnt work, but...

Japan does not recognize Taiwan as a country. Neither does any other Asian power, the US, or any member of the EU. So this is supporting a "defensive war" in an area that your country officially recognizes as a Chinese territory. Even if we try to remove "politics" from recognizing a sovereign nation aginst the wishes of a major world power - and that is weird to try - the reason that your country doesn't recognize Taiwan is to maintain good trade relations with China. How do these people imagine a "defensive war" would impact those trade relations that already make it impossible to refer to Taiwan as a country?

    Ask any Taiwanese

I knew a Taiwanese lady who hated Abe specifically because he gave tribute to soldiers who committed war crimes in the part of Manchuria her family was from (it was in Chinese news a while back). I don't think she's alive now but she definitely would've called this an act of karma.

Participating in a defensive war far away from your territory. Very cool and good.

"Japan can come and participate in a defensive war".

I don't think that means what you think that means.

Oh come on! You know, a defensive war. Like the defensive wars Japan took on in the first half of the 20th century to protect their nearest and dearest neighbors from western imperialists! Why are you trying to make that sound bad?
